Our Sunday classes make an ideal day trip for visitors to Mexico City or the Cuernavaca area. Recently featured in Travesías, Mexico's top travel magazine, they are also popular with locals interested in learning the techniques at the heart of authentic Mexican cuisine.
Beginning at 10 AM in Tepoztlán's famous outdoor market, this fully
escorted workshop teaches you to make three unforgettable salsas, your
own hand-pressed tortillas, our great guacamole, a nopal salad, and
more. Learn to use a molcajete and cure your souvenir cazuela before
filling it with an assortment of traditional sweets. After dining on
your creations in our exquisite indoor-outdoor kitchen, return to the
square for a guided stroll through the Sunday crafts market or buy
your own tequila press. You may also want to visit Tepoztlán's
impressive anthropology museum (a branch of the one in Mexico City),
its archeological collection, and the 16th century church of the
Nativity, a UNESCO world heritage site, before saying goodbye to your
guide. We will gladly help you book a hotel if you choose to arrive
before the workshop or stay on after it.
